What is Capila Health? The recovery app for hair transplant clinics

capilahealth logo variations

Capila Health is a white-label recovery app for hair transplant clinics. Clinics upload the post-op instructions they already use, and Capila turns them into an app branded as the clinic's own. Each patient gets a day-by-day recovery timeline, timely reminders and 24/7 AI answers, from surgery day to month 12.

Capila is made by Capila Health SAS, a company based in Paris. Patients get it through their clinic, so the clinic's name and logo are the first thing they see.

Capila at a glance

  • What it is: a recovery app that clinics give their hair transplant patients, branded as the clinic's own

  • Who pays: the clinic. Patients use it at no cost.

  • For patients: a personal recovery timeline, step-by-step instructions, reminders and a 24/7 AI assistant

  • For clinics: fewer repetitive questions, a branded app with no build work, and a view of where each patient is in recovery

  • Setup: upload your post-op PDF. Most clinics are set up in under 5 minutes.

  • Price: from €149 a month, with a 30-day free trial for up to 40 patients

  • AI: powered by Claude, from Anthropic. Clinic and patient data are never used to train AI.

Why Capila exists

because for recovery for an operation takes some time: swelling and scabs in the first weeks, shedding after that, and regrowth that takes most of a year. Questions come up at all hours, and many patients go home with little more than a printed sheet and a phone number.

Clinics feel it too. Their teams answer the same questions again and again: can I wash my hair, is this swelling normal, when can I exercise? Capila takes on those routine answers, so the clinic's people can spend their time where it counts. The idea was tested with more than 100 clinics before it was built.

What patients get

Patients open Capila from a link or QR code their clinic shares, by WhatsApp, email or on the clinic's website. From there, everything is built around their own surgery date.

  • A recovery timeline. Patients see exactly where they are, like "Day 5 post-op", with a countdown for each restriction.

  • Clear instructions. The clinic's own guidance, day by day: when to wash, how to sleep, when to exercise. Instructions can include images and videos.

  • Reminders. Notifications for medication, care steps and milestones, sent when they matter.

  • 24/7 AI answers. An AI assistant answers routine questions anytime, in the patient's own language. Anything urgent still belongs with the clinic.

  • A full year of support. Access lasts 12 months from the surgery date, through shedding, regrowth and final results.

What patients ask the AI, and the photos they take, stay private to them. The clinic sees only whether a patient has joined, whether they use the app, and where they are in recovery.

What clinics get

Clinics get a branded recovery app without building one, and a team that spends less time on repeat questions.

  • An app that's yours. Your logo, colors and voice. Patients see your clinic, not Capila.

  • Setup from what you already have. Upload your post-op PDF. Capila's AI turns it into timed, structured instructions you can review, edit and publish.

  • Fewer repetitive questions. Routine questions get answered in the app, so your team has more time for complex cases.

  • A view of every recovery. See who has joined, who is active, and where each patient is, from week 1 to month 12.

  • No new workflow. Share one link or QR code in the messages and printouts you already send.

Next up: pre-op support, with a Norwood self-rating, guided photo capture and graft planning.

How to set up Capila

Most clinics are set up in under 5 minutes, in four steps.

  1. Start a free trial at capilahealth.com/start-free-trial, or book a 30-minute demo and we'll set it up with you.

  2. Upload your post-op instructions. Capila turns your PDF into a day-by-day plan. Check it, edit anything, and publish.

  3. Add your branding. Your logo and colors, so the app looks like your clinic.

  4. Share your link. Send it by WhatsApp or email, add it to your website, or print the QR code. Patients open it and start their recovery plan.

Privacy and AI

Capila's AI never learns from your clinic's instructions or your patients' conversations.

  • The AI: Capila runs on Claude, through Anthropic's commercial API. Under those terms, customer content isn't used to train AI models.

  • Clinic isolation: each clinic sees only its own records and instructions. Other clinics never see them.

  • What clinics see: sign-ups, app use and recovery stage. Patients' AI conversations and photos stay private.

  • Your data, your call: Capila is built for GDPR compliance, and clinics can ask for their data to be deleted at any time.

What Capila isn't

Capila isn't a patient forum, a review site or a directory of clinics. It doesn't replace your surgeon or your clinic's team either. It handles routine questions and reminders, and anything urgent or unusual still goes to the clinic.

Patients can't sign up on their own. They get Capila through a clinic that uses it.

Our blog, Stories & Insights, also publishes general guides for patients and clinics, like the week-by-week recovery timeline or how to choose a clinic. Those articles are education, not a description of the product.
